Pottery Workshop

$95.00

Welcome to the Wheel Workshop.

Make your own pottery at the Hanselmann Pottery studio with our team of potters!

During this workshop, you will learn the basics of wheel-throwing and get a taste of the journey of making vessels the way we do.  This experience is all about getting a feel for the material, getting a little messy and just having fun!

This 2 hour workshop includes:

  • A tour of our gallery and studio space.
  • A wheel throwing demo by one of our skilled potters.
  • A bucket of prepared clay, so you can take as many tries as you need.
  • Discounts in our gallery or on our website.
  • Shipping of your pottery included if you are traveling.
  • 3 finished and fired pieces, made by you!
    • You’ll get to choose between 3 shapes:  A bowl, a spoon rest, or a cylinder.
    • Choose from 3 glaze colors:  Oxblood Red, Oribe Green or our signature Aspen White.
    • Additional pieces may be fired at an additional cost if more are made.
  • Any assistance you need in making your first pot.
  • The company of our fun team of potters.

To schedule your workshop: Choose the number in your party and purchase your slots.  Then email us at han.pottery@gmail.com to pick your day and time.  We are currently booking Tuesday through Saturday, 10am-4pm.  Feel free to check for other dates, as we can sometimes make an exception on a different date.

Things to keep in mind:

Making pottery on the wheel is a skill that takes years to master, and months to learn the beginning basics.  This art form is a long and committed journey that is now a part of our potter’s career and lifestyle.  The purpose of this workshop is not to create a masterpiece, or to make a successful pot during your first try.  The goal is to dip your toes in the experience and HAVE FUN with clay.  We will assist you as much as we can to create a finished piece that you will get to take home, but we are not here to critique your work or your skill level.  This is a judgment free zone, with chill vibes only!  This is a method of making that can feel very unusual in the beginning, so we hope you’ll embrace the funny feeling of trying something new and laugh with us through all the wobbles and learning moments along the way.
