A note about seconds: Each piece we make is handmade and therefore unique, and some inherent variation in glaze appearance and size should be expected. However sometimes a piece might have some small, unintended, cosmetic defect, and these are priced as seconds. These pieces are still perfectly functional and beautiful. Examples of defects might include:

• Unusually dark speckles, caused by naturally occurring minerals in the clay

• A small fired-in crack on the bottom of the piece

• Small grains of kiln debris that have fused with the glaze

• Cups that are slightly oval

• Small pinholes in glaze surface

• Pieces that are out of spec in terms of dimension or trimming details

All sales are final. Seconds are "near-perfect" pieces selected by us.
